- At my new job, there is a cafeteria that serves breakfast and lunch. And every day I can have bacon. BACON - made by someone else who also cleans up the mess and just gives me the smoky, crispy goodness of BACON for $.65 a piece.
- After a particularly grueling weekend of holding and putting down and waking up ad nasuem for 2 hours for two nights, I decided I was tired of this craziness and lay Mr. Cheeks down and shut the door. The first night took 2 hours again, but the second night took 30 minutes and the third night took 20 and the fourth night took 10 and last night took 5, but he is practically going to sleep on his own after 20 minutes of holding and Sesame Street. And he's not waking up anymore during the night. At all. It's like a new house. One that sleeps.
- I have recently discovered that as a member of the AIPCA, I am eligible for up to 35% off all my purchases at Office Depot. For an office junkie like me, who has gone so far as to order my yellow checking pencils from ENGLAND, this is like Christmas in September!
- The aforementioned cafeteria serves fried catfish every Friday and so does the old folks home where my sister works. It's a southerners dream come true! (Hospitals around here also serve fish on Fridays, I assume because of the old Catholic deal about no meat on Fridays. Is this a southern thing or is it everywhere?)
- TP's job offer come this week. Not only is it a big raise for him, but they will pay for us to move the rest of our stuff from Birmingham and then give him a signing bonus on top of that! Now if we could only find someone to buy our house we'll be home free! He starts his new job on October 1, and he gave his notice today, so he'll have a week off in between to get all packed up, supervise the movers and get here without shoving it all into one weekend and starting his job stressed out and tired.
- BACON
Have a great weekend everybody...I'll be at work.

Is Mr. Cheeks not sleeping because of his new surroundings? Or, from being sick?
If it's the new house? Dude, I SO feel your pain. We moved in March of this year. My daughter was 14 months at the time. Had slept like a rockstar since 4 months old...down at 7:30, sleep all night and up at 7 the next morning.
Our first month here? I was ready to kill myself or move back to the old place. She refused to nap, refused to go to sleep and by 5 pm, I needed something...whether it was a big ass margarita or a rubber room...something. Me? No patience. I didn't get why a child who was clearly beyond tired just wouldn't lay down and sleep.
Thankfully, that changed. Took some nights of letting her cry and my heart breaking, but so worth it.
If it's because he's been sick...well, that sucks canal water with a bendy straw, too.
This comment? Also sucks. And is entirely too long.
Congrats to the husband on the offer, the bonus and the being moved for free. Sweeeet deal. If your house were in NY, I'd buy it. But, it's not, so I can't.
I'm done typing now.

MMmmmmmm bacon. My workplace has a cafeteria too that sells bacon already cooked by someone else for breakfast. It's a dream isn't it?
Glad to hear the Mr. Cheeks is sleeping through the night. Blessed be, must be nice.
Yay for the new jobby job!!!

I hope you didn't have to work too long this weekend...
Bacon at work is dangerous, I tell ya. We have it here too, right next to the fried chicken livers and biscuits and gravy.

BACON!! I hear you. I will never give up my morning bacon, Biggest Loser contest or no. Fried catfish? Sign me up. I'd be 400 lbs if we had a cafeteria
Why did you have to work all weekend?

Be prepared to love me:
Coat bacon in a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon
Twist
Place on a greased cookie rack that is on a foil-lined cookie sheet
Bake @ 425 degrees for 30-45 minutes, depending on crispness desired.
Oh. My. God.

I so hear you on the office supply glee. My husband brought home a bunch of plastic file folders from work a while back -- it was TOTALLY like Christmas. I get a little too excited about these things....
